TAYLOR CALCIUM BUFFER REAGENT #10
$5.99
TAY-R-0010
Taylor R-0010 Calcium Buffer is used in Taylor pool/spa test kits (like K-2000 series) to stabilize water for accurate calcium hardness testing; you add it to a water sample in a test vial, then add indicator (R-0011L) and titrant (R-0012), counting drops of R-0012 until the color changes from red to blue, then multiply drops by 10 for ppm hardness
- Collect Sample: Fill the large test vial (comparator) to the 25 mL line with pool/spa water.
- Add Buffer: Add 20 drops of R-0010 Calcium Buffer and swirl gently to mix (avoid bubbles).
- Add Indicator: Add 5 drops of R-0011L (blue dye/indicator) and swirl; the sample should turn pinkish-red if calcium is present.
- Titrate: Add R-0012 (titrant) one drop at a time, swirling after each drop, until the solution changes from pink to blue.
- Count Drops: Count the total number of R-0012 drops used.
- Calculate: Multiply the drop count by 10 to get your calcium hardness in parts per million (ppm).
- Verify (Optional but Recommended): Add one more drop of R-0012; if the color stays blue, the count is accurate.
