The Taylor R-0009 Sulfuric Acid 0.12N Reagent is a precision-formulated titrant used in Taylor’s total alkalinity tests. It works in conjunction with other Taylor reagents (such as R-0007 and R-0008) to determine the alkalinity level in pool and spa water through a simple drop-count titration method.

1. Sample Prep: Fill the test tube with the water sample.
2. Add Indicator: Add a few drops of Total Alkalinity Indicator (e.g., R-0007 or similar) to turn the water green.
3. Titrate with R-0009: Add R-0009 (Sulfuric Acid) drop by drop, swirling after each drop.
4. Watch for Color Change: Continue until the green color changes to a distinct red or pink.
5. Calculate: Count the drops used; multiply that number by 10 to get the Total Alkalinity in parts per million (ppm)
